Man - our H Tony is AMAZING!

First of all - read book 1 first. It really will screw you up if you try to read out of order. Bright side: Book 1 is GREAT! I actually liked it a lot more than this one...and I liked this one a lot.

Again, our H Tony is great. He is possessive, sweet, caring, sexy, sensual, romantic and funny.
Our h is coming out of a horrible marriage where she was violently abused mentally and physically. Tony happens to be her lawyer (well, sort of)..and her best friends brother.
The h has always crushed hard on our H, they grew up together. His family being the saving grace our h needed in growing up in an ugly home environment. They always thought of the h as one of their own. However the H never really paid much attention to little sister's BFF, he was too busy living his man-ho life.

A lot of the story was the trials and road to recovery/independence our h is seeking after years of abuse. The H has to do a lot, I mean A LOT of the work to get this relationship up and going.

It didn't have as much action/fun as the first in the series, but was still very steamy/sexy and the characters were a hoot to read about.

I do recommend this. Again, the first really hooked me, and made this author pretty much an auto buy for me. She has a very KA feel to her, without being in the KA shadow - you know does her own thing.
I do like that the H is very Alpha/Possessive, I just wish it would have been a little more adventurous and entertaining.

Wow. This is the second book by Ms Asher, and though she did a very good job in her first book she really shines in this one. I see more of her personality and less of other authors in this one. Her writing style though tight and very well done has a fluidity that is almost perfection. This book starts out with drama and spirals gently away from it, and all at a perfect and realistic pace The main characters are extremely likable and well done, and though the h has some very heavy issues to work through she isn't so bogged down by them that you become frustrated or even depressed. Watching her move on and gain the beauty that she deserved was like watching a perfect flower open. The H was smexy and alpha without being too over-the-top. In fact, I liked this couple more than the previous book's couple- and I liked them a lot! This book was just such a pleasure to read interesting story line, well done characters, and just solid all-around writing (I am really big on punctuation and proof-reading when it comes to buying books, and I had no issues with hers). Very impressed.

The sex is pretty tame/vanilla but sweet none the less. Paige is next? Hmm....this will be the true test for me as I often found her a bit too immature for my liking(just felt she was always on a red bull-espresso high) so I am looking forward to seeing if she matures a bit and who her love will be.

Wonderful job, Ms. Asher, and I can't wait for more of your books!
Leigh and Tony's story is fantastic. Leigh has had a painful life and suffered atrocities at the hands of her ex-husband. She's trying to put herself back together, all while avoiding the reality of the life-long crush she's had on Tony, since she feels that she's not worthy of much anymore. Tony, on the other hand, decides that maybe it's time to step up to the plate and show Leigh just what she truly is and what he sees in her. They have some very heartwarming times together to bring Leigh back to herself before truly becoming an "us", and Tony's plan works wonderfully. Thanks to Tony, Leigh's able to see that she's truly worth more and that life does, indeed, move on.

Overall, this was a painful story, because of Leigh's past, but I wouldn't have missed this ride for anything.
Though this is the second in the series, I think it can be read as a standalone if you really want to. Though the first one was great, so I recommend going ahead and reading it first.

This one felt heavier than the first one and didn't have much of the humor. However, our main character has just escaped from an extremely abusive marriage that ended with her in the hospital and losing her unborn child. Knowing this from book one going in I wasn't expecting rainbows and unicorns early on, so it all worked.

I liked the first one better, but that's only b/c I have a weakness for the funner side of things. Tony was perfect and exactly what Leigh needed and deserved.

I've seen some complaints about grammatical errors. I saw some, but not more than I find in any other book I read.

I'm super excited Paige’s story is coming next. She is so much fun I'm sure her story will have some great antics.
Leigh and Tony’s story is amazing. Leigh has had a difficult and painful first marriage. There is no doubt about that, you will feel her pain as she tries to escape the realities of her horrible, shattered life. Enter our Hot Alpha, Tony, to try to pick up the pieces. Tony is sexy, caring and loving as he tries to help Leigh realize that her future can hold the beautiful life that she deserves. Tony is the perfect blend of take-charge male. Their encounters are warm and tender at times, and hot and steamy at other times.

Beautiful Life, the second book in The Carpino Series, is equally as wonderful as book one. You don’t have to read Overflow first because book two stands alone. However, if you read Overflow first, you will have a “slightly” better understanding of what the huge Carpino family is like funny, loving, in-your-business, got-your-back, over-the-top wonderful!

Author Brynne Asher writes convincingly. She draws you into the sorrow and loss that Leigh has endured and leaves the reader wanting a beautiful life for everyone.

A great read. You won’t be disappointed.
